Taste the difference of time campaign

At Mainland we reckon that it’s the little things that make a big difference to the cheese you buy. And to prove this, we’ve launched the “Taste the Difference of Time” campaign.

It’s all about showing you that cheese isn’t just cheese. With each variant come subtle differences that can make a good occasion a great one.

We’ve spent over 50 years crafting quality cheese and over that time we’ve learnt a thing or two, so we’d like to share some of what we know with you. We’ll be doing this by getting around the country over the next 6 months or so and trying to meet you all face to face. We’ll be bringing the Mainland road show to a town near you, tasting our fine Cheddars and showing you just how to taste the difference of time! Check out the notice board to find out more about where and when you can catch the Mainland road show.

And also, because here at Mainland we’re so passionate about cheese, we asked one of our cheese makers to share some of his secrets about tasting cheese with you. Visit our Tasting Room and select an item from the board to find out more about our delicious Cheddar range or even just tasting cheese in general. Remember, good things take time.

Our products, our people, our places, our stories.
Come in and discover the secret to our cheese making process.
Good things take time – a little cheese making history.

OUR HERITAGE

Every block of Mainland cheese has a secret ingredient – time. It’s what gives our cheese that distinctive Mainland flavour.

At Mainland we know that you can't hurry nature or our cheese makers; "Cheese is ready when it's ready", they say. So they wait to make sure that every block is perfectly matured before we offer it to you. That can mean a fair bit of waiting - up to 24 months for our Vintage Cheddar.

But to truly experience how time can transform Cheddar into something amazing, try our Epicure. It’s been aged for up to three years to produces a sharpness in flavour you’ll never forget.

We do the waiting so you don't have to. Every block of Mainland is ready for you to simply enjoy on its own or to add a perfect twist to your everyday meals.

At Mainland cheese is our whole life. And we want everyone to share our enthusiasm for cheese.

We reckon our simple twists on everyday meals will be a hit with your family – they are with ours.

And hopefully you'll start to try new things with your favourite cheese and explore new varieties.

We'll be giving you all sorts of hints, tips and advice but you don't have to try everything at once.

Remember the secret of cheese, Good things take time...
